    How to Fake Google PR

    Faking PR is extremely easy. The first method is to buy PR. You just buy links from high PR sites and eventually your site will gain a higher PR. Most everyone knows about this but no one considers it "fake" PR although it is.

    The next method is just as easy. The idea behind it is to 301 redirect or forward your domain to a high PR domain like Yahoo for Cralwers/Bots only (not regular users). When Google sees the user landing on the page, they actually think the page is the forwarded, higher PR page (such as Yahoo).

    Here is the pseudocode concept of faking PR:
    Code:
    /* insert a cloaking script here to detect whether the visitor is
    Googlebot */
    if (Googlebot) {
    echo '‘;
    exit();
    }
    else {
    echo “
    My PR10 page!
    “;
    }
    ?>
    You can do this with .htaccess or coding.

    Interesting. I didn't realize it was so easy to fake PR. This probably explains all those people making blog posts for $3 to PR7 sites...

    I remember Google making an article about "piped" data. It's probably inaccurate since they could probably get around people detecting them every now and then to double check. Also, if you do this, they will "cache" your piped preview, so when people search for you, they will think you are somebody else. Yes, you'll get the PR, but that's about it.

    I'm not sure if the second method will work. And if it will, there will be any benefits, it will act like a real page rank classification?

    What about the fact to be sandboxed with the second method?
    Is there somebody having tried it?
