My toolbar where I generally type my search terms has eleven major search engines listed but I always start with Google and now & then switch to either Bing or Ask.com. Though there is Yahoo search, I have developed some aversion to it lately.

Dogpile? But they are just a compilation search engine that compiles the best of the web into one spot.

I use Swagbucks.com. It says it's Google based, but I dunno. I do seem to get the same search results on Swagbucks that I would get on Google.

There are many search engines apart from the two big search engine - Google and Yahoo...like A9, AOL, blinkx, CometQ, ZUULA, boing...but i don't know whether these engines are reliable or not.

Yes .. Meta Search is really the only way to go if you are seriously trying to find something.

These compilation search engines do assemble the best of all there is. Where as sometimes, Google just gives you EVERYTHING on the subject not just what you need. BING was supposed to cut through this confusion but did little to help.

I am trying out DuckDuckGo and Blekko at the moment. Their results look cleaner than Google's. Not exactly sure but I also suspect that their results are more accurate. Accurate like not being influenced by advertising money.
