    Hey!

Today I'm going to each you how to create a simple glossy button.

    1. Creating Background

First we have to create our Photoshop document. I'll use size 300x150.

Now set your foreground color to #80d1f7, then let's use Rounded Rectangle Tool:

and let's create something like that:

Now right click on your layer, select "Blending Options" and set these settings:

To get this type of gradient click on gradients. There you can see a little arrow (right side) next to "Gradients" click on it and select "Metals".

Now your background should look like this:

    2. Adding Text

Now it's time to add some text. Chose your favorite font and write something onto your button. Mine looks like this:

Right click on your text layer, select "Blending Options" and set these settings:

    My outcome looks like this:

    3. Adding Glossy Effect

Now it's time for glossy effect. Grab a Rounded Marquee Tool and make a selection like this:

Fill it with white color. Now click on your background layer and go "Select" -> "Load Selection" and press OK.

Then click on your white color layer and go "Select" -> "Inverse" and press "Delete" button on your keyboard.

Now change your white color layer's opacity to 29%.

    4. Final Words

And you are done.. Wasn't that simple? My outcome looks like this:

I hope you liked this. You can download PSD file also.

    Regards,
    Jaan

The button looks very classy, the glossy effect really makes it look cool. I have seen many people who know how to use photoshop, but very few use their creativity with it.
