First of all you need to create content that is of high quality. If you do not have high quality content, no one is going to want to link with you. Just as you would not want to link on other sites that have poor quality content.

Now once you have some high quality articles written you can take them and submit them to a site that is a free directory for articles. When your articles are published on another site, you get a backlink to your site.

Take advantage of social bookmarking sites. This will allow you to book mark all of your webpages. If you find this hard to do, you may wish to find a tool for bookmarker to make it easier for you.

You can also participate in forums, making sure your posts are high quality. Add your signature to the posts so others can click to your site. Just make sure that the site has something to do with your site.

Back links are the incoming traffic to the site it is just due to the visitors coming to the sites,,
It determine the page rank of the site and their is direct relation of the rank of site and the back links as much the back links of the sites are more it will gain more traffic and more rank in the search engines..
