Relating to search, they are better at image search. Google just sucks at it - I'm not sure if Yahoo uses Bing for Image search as well, although I suspect so.

Yahoo uses bing search technology
Another feature which I like of yahoo over google is yahoomail over gmail.. I like the interface of new version of yahoo, and I guess it is the fastest when you wanna reply to some mail.

Yahoo is better at providing news than Google, especially entertainment related. They have a dedicated news source rather than just drawing links from various sources.
